If you've posted twice, probably nobody knows an answer to the
question you asked.  I don't find "choking" to be a very 
descriptive term.

I suppose you are talking about email attachments.  What software
are you using?  pine?  Eudora?  metamail? What are the symptoms?
connection hangs? connection aborts? entire message is transferred,
but is not intelligible?  What is in the log files?
