: 350 users on at once, it never clinches. This error occured ONLY with

Well, you must be lucky.  Here's the quote from Steven Hinkle @ bsdi 
(hinkle@bsdi.com) regarding the 3c595 hangs:

	At this point, I think I better have someone take a look at the 
	driver to see if there is a possible problem there.  I would 
	recommend that you swap the 3Com card out for a SMC if possible 
	or use a ISA version of a 3Com card (such as the 3C509).
