I wrote the above while under the impression that I was starting down a long dark tunnel of installation. At the time I had no idea that an hour later it would be on the computer and working. I was just stuck. If it is any help, I believe the resolution of the problem rested upon a few variables. My cache, location of dist files on dos, and making a comprimise with setup for the disk geometry. Turned cache off, moved dist files to ***primary*** partition (observed in debug that it was the only partition that would be accessed.), drank a lot of coffee, and allowed the setup to use the 64 head configuration for the geometry and I entered the rest according the actual specs xxxx/64/xx. I was wrong! And heck I'm already grateful. Thank you. Jim Kelly
