Hmmm, this conversation is not only getting boring, but is also being
overtaken by technology.... :-)

Ok, ok, so Demon is definitely getting better. In fact, my whole
perception of my "service" has been getting better rapidly since
the introduction of the new news machines.

To be honest, I don't use the net as much as most. Occasionally
I'll download lots of stuff (from src.doc.ic.ac.uk - good speed),
but most of the time I exchange news & mail with the rest of the
world in the early hours - when I'm asleep. I found that when
I *did*, service *was* poor. It's some time since I've had any
(consistent) problems, and now they've doubled the modems with
this new London ROMP..... pity I'm moving outside of London
shortly :-(

On a side note, it'll be interresting if we now get good throughput
on our connections to the States. If so, the D3 has to be the cause
- proving my original point :-)
