Yup, this is a known problem with the Intel cards mentioned in the readme
files.

You must manually disable the MC (mitsumi driver) if you have a ExPress
card in there, as the driver probe will make the card respond, so the driver
thinks it's some kind of weird CD.  Instructions on how to do this are in the same
readme files which discuss the problem in the first place.
