hello !

i will shortly be installing some sort of unix system on my pc.
anyone want to share some insight on the pros/cons between linux and
freebsd ?

although both are available free of charge from the net, most home users
seem to be running linux, but i have not seen any "major" company/isp use
linux. on the other hand there are some isp's [like internex online -
io.org] that use freebsd.

does this mean freebsd is more safe ? better ? so why do most users go
for linux ? plain old "p.r." or is there more to it ?

any thoughts ?

thanx in advance

nadeem

ps emailed replies would be appreciated since i am hopelessly slow in
reading news

pps i posted this message to the linux.misc group last week, and got
some interesting replies, hoping for the same from the bsd group.
