I tried to installed FreeBSD 2.1 by following the instructions that come with the CD-ROM. Everything seems fine except that booting stops at the call to ifconfig. The system I used has an NE2000 and the IRQ is set to 5. I think this is the correct setting since I got "ed1 device time out" if I set the IRQ to other values. It seems that the board is sorta working because I can still access other machines on the local network if I press ^C to stop the ifconfig and let the booting continue. (I need to send a ^C to sendmail also, BTW) Could any FreeBSD guru give me a clue? Zillion thanx. -- Doug Kwan ~{9XUq5B~} Graduate Student Department of Computer Science The University of Hong Kong
