It's a 16 port PCI serial card. I was : wondering if anyone had anything bad to say about it? Or if the RocketPort : (by Comtrol) is really better? In a word, don't. We're a Cyclades dealer and we've been unable to ever make a Cyclades box work with FreeBSD. The problem is that the driver is written by a third party and it's very poorly done. It apparently only works with a limited set of hardware. The fact that's its free is no excuse for the shoddy work and the incredibly poor support he provides. In fact, it's no support at all, he pretty much ignores email. All he seems to ever say is "you must not have modified the cable." Oh, that's right, you'll have to build custom cables ... As you can see, my whole experience with this has left me rather bitter. I feel Cyclades is doing a great disservice (if not flat-out lying) when they claim their stuff is FreeBSD compatible.
