Human beings are so insecure that they must constantly justify their choices to themselves and others. You are no more likely to find an impartial analysis of FreeBSD vs. Linux than you are of Ford vs. Chevy, Harley Davidson vs. BMW, or Christianity vs. Islam. After making their choice people need to reassure themselves that they made the right choice by trashing the other choices.
