That's exactly how lmbench came to be.  It was my suite of tools, built
up from file system work, netwroking work, etc., with a few things added
because they were missing.  So you could just as easily produce your own
benchmark, or if there are specific things you want measured, write just
that test and give it to me and I'll massge it into lmbench 2.0.  So
what's the problem?  Either pony up with some work or just sit and flame
on Usenet.  I certainly know which one generates more respect.
