One thing I'm wondering about is how external displays are handled: do they have to be mirrors of the built-in screen or does X allow them to be additional screens? What is currently considered to be a usable minimum system (processor/mem/HD) for FreeBSD on a laptop? I'm hoping to use the system for writing using TeX (dare I attempt to use Emacs?) and doing some development when I'm away from my desk. Thanks for any advice... --erik
