However, RPC & pthreads are up and running (1.0.2a source on BSDi 1.1). CDS was not completed and we never started security. If you were to buy a source license for DCE 1.0x, we could probably arrange to get you the changes we made. The pthread port was totally mechanical; we used the Sinix reference port as a base. The only real problem we had with RPC was with the idl compiler. CDS was a bit more fun, due to problems with some BSD 4.4 "compatibility" code, problems with the System V shared memory emulator we were using, and some other Compu-specific environment hacks. This would be much, much simpler and cleaner on 2.1. There is no purchasable port of DCE, and BSDi has not expressed any interest in doing one themselves. I haven't looked at the 1.1 sources, but I don't think the problems are any more acute (which is to say: from an uninformed point-of-view based on what I know of the 1.1 changes and my memory of a project I did a couple of years ago, I can't see any major problems with the parts of the code we completed). -- *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* !
