All seems well until after commit... It creates file systems ok, then starts copying from distributions and dies on bin.aa or bin.ab and just hangs. I can CTRL-C and "cleanly" quit the install. Here's my config: BSD Machine (worked VERY well with 2.1.0R believe it or not =) ): 386/40 8 MB ram 3Com ep0 1 conner 400 mb 1 conner 200 mb Install method (also, worked to install 2.1.0 without a hitch): Local FTP to Windows 95 machine running WFTPD 2.20 I'm including a few lines of the WFTPD log... there is a warning in it that I'm sure is related to the problem (cause or effect, I'm not sure): ------ 8< ----------------------------------- [G 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:00 Got file D:\FREEBSD\2.1.5-RELEASE\bin\bin.ab successfully [C 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:01 Command "TYPE I" received [C 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:01 TYPE set to I N [C 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:01 Command "PORT 192,168,0,10,4,5" received [C 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:01 PORT set to 192.168.0.10 - 1029 (4,5) [C 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:01 Command "RETR bin/bin.ac" received [C 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:01 RETRieve started on file bin/bin.ac [C 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:38 Transfer terminated by client closing connection [C 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:38 Transfer aborted [G 0057] 07/18/96 00:32:38 Got file D:\FREEBSD\2.1.5-RELEASE\bin\bin.ac unsuccessfully [! -001] 07/18/96 00:32:38 Received data signal FD_WRITE on socket 15 which I can't find [C 0057] 07/18/96 00:33:13 QUIT or close - user anonymous logged out ------ 8< ----------------------------------- In the above example, the install died on bin.ac, it's not consistent. It will die on aa or ab as well. This is a bummer! I guess I'll just go back to 2.1.0R if I have to... TIA Ed Paquette ed@ncia.net
