Booting takes forever loop, fsck reporting some error messages Have you recompiled the kernel yet? The kernel on the dist.fs and fixit.fs floppies is stripped, so there is no symbol information for utilities like ps, w, etc. . . >(So, I had to type ^C and did fsck manually - this was a new problem >after I did patches). I still cannot do 'mwrite' nor downloading or Yes. I had the problem with the fsck also. It looks like fsck exits before the system is rebooted (after fsck modifies the root fs). This allows the rc scripts to continue, and a sync ends up being done. This flushes the bad buffers back to disk, writing over the fixes made by fsck (using the raw partition). I haven't really had a chance to check this out yet. >uploading using modem (tip, rz, and sz as described in INSTALL.NOTES). >It just simply does not work (using given binaries, source codes, and >58 patchkits - I think I have to ask around how other people are doing). I have had no problems, and I have been successfully using SLIP. I do need to use the cgd com drivers, though. -- ...............................................................................
