By "load" I take it you mean install? If so, it will depend on the type of installation you do. If you install from floppy disk, don't make any future plans. If you are connected to the 'net you can download an initial disk image to boot with, after which you tell it your IP address and so on. Then you get a choice of the type of installation you want, and after this the FreeBSD distribution is automatically downloaded and installed on your local hard disk. The speed of this operation is highly dependant on the speed of you 'net link.
