Hello all,

I'm new to the BSD o.s. so this question is probably silly but if someone
could help I'd be really gratefull...

So my problem is this: I have a device connected to my pc serial port
(well, to both ports to be more precise...) and it is constantly dumping
text lines which I have to dump to a file.
So the thing is, how can I do this?
I've looked around the man pages for things like snp, watch and
everything but I can't use them unless I establish a conection on the
devices (ttyd0 and ttyd1), so who can I set them up to do this?
Is getty what I'm looking for? I really don't think so but with proper
parametrization, maybe?

So now that I've come to the experts I can just seat back and relax,
right? :-))

Anyway, I've allready lost a few days looking for this so it really is
getting on my nerves, after all, how hard can it be to set up a simple
serial line reader?

Thanx a lot!

nuno
