If there is a FAQ that has the anwers to this, could somebody point that out as well> Truth is, if you know enough to ask the question, you have to try it yourself to get the answer. Preferences seem pretty idiosyncratic (that is, it may depend on what your gripe about linux is, and what you're doing with it). One of the best answers someone gave me to that question was "FreeBSD feels more like UNIX to me. Use what you like." Might not to you. Only one way to find out. CDs are cheap, ftp is free, and since you know what you're doing you can be up and finding out for yourself which *you* like better within the hour, long before a thread like this finishes. So try it, risk-free. No salesman will call. Then *you* can tell *us* which is better (for you), and why. ;-) -drt
