Well, it is a perfectly valid way to do Virtual Hosting on BSD-derived
systems ( if they have ifconfig alias ). I prefer it to aliasing using
Ethernet cards ( which is more common ). I have an instinctive dislike
of proxy-ARPing, and using lo devices avoids this.

I have 3 Class Cs worth of IPs used as virtual domains using this
technique right now ( 762 IPs ) on one machine.
