In fact, I don't intend on allowing shell on either one of these. My question is, how beefy do I need to make these machines? How much memory / cpu should I have in each one for adequate use? Can I get by with 486/33's with 8MB, or will I need 16? I have FreeBSD running here on my home network on a 386/40 with 8mb. It moves along fine, really. The file system is pretty quick, but it takes a better part of an hour to compile a kernel. =) There will never be more than 50-60 connections on either one at one time. (That's a maximum figure, realistically there will never be more than 15 or 20) TIA -- Ed Paquette ed@ncia.net
