Nope, addresses beginning with 244 are class E addresses.  I'm no expert with
mbone stuff, but it's pretty interresting (I got the wrong book - gave up reading
it when it started telling me how to use X-windows Motif style programs....:-( )

Btw, mbone is the same as multicast - except that mbone is tunneled around the
place to dodge non-multicast aware routers.
