Hello

Is there a HOWTO document for making XFree86 to run on NetBSD-1.1?

I installed base NetBSD-1.1 (machine info given below). I couldn't
figure out what to do with upgr11 floppy so did not use it during
installation process (could that be a problem?). I want to make
XFree86-3.1.1 work on it. I couldn't find XFree86 package binaries for
1.1 on ftp site ftp.eecs.umich.edu (141.212.99.7). I used NetBSD-1.0
package and did not meet with success, probably my approach is wrong.
I did create /dev/mouse (character, 666, 28, 128). As
I have no experience of installing/configuring X windows, so it is
a plea for help (or fruitful pointers to that effect).

The machine in question is Dell PRO200 with

  24Mb RAM, 1.6Gb EIDE, 9FX Mmotion 771 video w/2Mb VRAM
(chipset is S3-968?, made by Number Nine Vusual Tech.),
Dell Ultrascan 15TX SVGA monitor (Hsync: 31.5-64KHz,
  Vertical refresh: 50-120 Hz)

The video card in not in database /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/Cards BUT it
is there in the database on FreeBSD machine (running in the lab).
I copied the FreeBSD Cards file and tried again but no success!

Should the 1.0 binaries work with 1.1?

Should kernel support for X under NetBSD be turned on before starting
windows?

Any pointers for even to make it run at 640x480 resolution will be
helpful.

If anybody is using the above viedeo hardware, please help with the
files:
   /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_S3 X server binary (9FX card)
   /user/X11R6/bin/xf86config binary
   /etc/XF86Config config
   /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/Cards database

+ anyother info needed for running X windows

Thanks in advance.
