Most of what I saw as responses to the "SMP question" was ``it's being worked on'' or ``yeah, it'll get here sometime'' ... Most of these messages were "old" (6 months, sometimes years old) so what I would like to know is if FreeBSD 2.2 (when it is released) going to support SMP "out of the box"? If not, are there plans to do such a thing beyond FreeBSD 2.2? I find myself drooling over dual Pentium Pro boxes (drool only, no cash :) and am just wondering if this wonderful OS is going to support both chips at once. In a nutshell, what are the "official plans" for bringing SMP into FreeBSD for the masses?
