I'm going to be getting a PC soon to run FreeBSD on. I'm looking
for some advice on motherboards.

I talked with the guy in our organization that buys most of our
components. He is pushing motherboards made by Supermicro for
servers and high-end workstations. Specifically, he mentioned
their Super P6DNF motherboard. This is a dual-processor Pentium
Pro 200MHz board with the 440FX chipset. (My boss hasn't told me
yet how much money I have to spend, so I had no limits to give.
Our hardware guy kind of went crazy with the price quote.)

Has anyone had any experience with Supermicro boards? Any other
recommendations? I see that the Asus motherboards seem to be
quite popular. If the Asus is better, I can probably push the
issue a bit more.

What about SMP support? I keep reading little bits about SMP
support being worked on in FreeBSD. Can anyone comment on how far
along it is and how stable it is?

Thanks,

Jeff
