I am managing to use 12 ports out of 16. Other ports I am not managing to use because it doesnot have the "??" as discribe in the hand book. Para from Handbook >This forces the init process to reread /etc/ttys. The init process will then start getty processes on >all ``on'' ports. You can find out if logins are available for your port by typing > > ps -ax | grep '[t]tyd1' > > >You should see something like: > > 747 ?? I 0:00.04 /usr/libexec/getty std.57600 ttyd1 I get folloing when I do ps -ax for the ttydf and ttydg ports 171 df IWs+ 0:00.06 /usr/libexec/getty tp.57600 ttydf 172 dg IWs+ 0:00.05 /usr/libexec/getty tp.57600 ttydg > Any suggestion in correcting this problem? Thanks, Tushar
