i posted this earlier, but it disappeared...

i compiled my kernel with ps2 mouse options (psm0) and made the device.
the kernel line is:

device psm0 at isa? port "IO_KBD" conflicts tty vector psmintr

options PSM_NO_RESET

and now i can run XF86.  unfortunately, it boots up and then locks
completely, forcing me to power off the machine.  I have a Compaq Prolinea
Pentium 150 with 48MB RAM and a Stealth 64 VRAM card with 4MB VRAM.
anyone ever dealt with this??  I desperately need X and am TIRED of the
three virtual consoles i'm stuck with...
