I've recently acquired FreeBSD, having used Linux to my great satisfaction for about a year and a half. I had no (great) problems getting Linux's pppd to cooperate with my ISP's dynamic IP allocation scheme. A chat script served nicely. It appears that FreeBSD isn't quite as cooperative w/r/t dynamic IP addresses as is Linux, as I cannot establish a PPP link over a dialup connection with my ISP. (and yes, I've considered that I might be incompetent rather than merely ignorant... :) Would anyone have any insight into this problem? Thanks in advance. Paul <pboyer@epix.net>
