Anyway, as you miss to mention, this goes for the Linux port of Netatalk. I use it on a Ultrix host and have no problem without the aforementioned hw router or UAR. >The difference between the two packages are those of speed versus >features. CAP has more features but netatalk wins the speed competition. >Some have stated that CAP scales better; I can't judge that. Netatalk have three major improvements over CAP as I see it: 1. The support of LaserWriter 8 driver. OK, I haven't testes CAP for some time, but I see quite a lot of postings about how to use LW8 and CAP. In Netatalk you can even put a copy of the PPD for your printer on the Netatalk host and get a very close simulation of a local connected printer. 2. The support of correct icon viewing. You can have both a system global icon definition file as well as a per-user-dito. 3. The support of automatic generation of Finder files for saving of status information. No need to manually create them as in CAP. /Olof -- WHOAMI: Olof Backing EMAIL: WHERE: Royal Institute Of Technology, Stockholm obg@nada.kth.se SNAIL: Skarpnacks Alle 45, 3tr, S-128 33 SKARPNACK, Sweden VOICE: + 46 8 931619
