So what it sendmail dies? There's no sure way to monitor a system really.
All you can do is get a good approximation. (And fwiw, I've not seen inetd
die on any system I manage for QUITE a while. The only exceptions are
A: A bug in inetd which was patched by the vendor and B: an instance
where the system in question was suffering from an ill simm.)
