We have two each of the HP 1200e (6 tape DDS2 stacker) and the HP 600
(single DDS2) Each 120 meter tape holds 4-7 Gigs depending on compression.

All seem to be interchangeable and work reliably...

using

mt -f /dev/rst0_f8mm  rewoffl

or for BSDI 2.1

mt -f /dev/rst0_fddsII  rewoffl

I can get the tape to cycle, though I still haven't figured out how to
go from tape 6 to tape 1 -- I have to do it physically..

The single is $1000 or slightly less the 6'er is approx $3000

I feel lucky to have found them.... I like things I can rely on!!!
