Make sure you have enough ram to not swap, but most importantly, make sure you have enough spindles. We have a 4x redundant full feed and handle an average of about 30-40 simultaneous nnrp's, all essentially without baacklogging. This is on a single adaptec 2940 narrow. (the trick here is LOTS of disks with high RPM and low average seek times. I would of course be perfectly happy to roll out a second controller, but it hasn't been necessary. -- Sean T.
