Video was EGA and manual said you _could_ plug in a video card and use it instead of on-board video or together with it (dual display). It _did_not_ say how to disable on-board EGA if you plug a VGA card in. Atari sales people here said there was a combination of dip switches to do that, but Atari never told them _which_ combination. Well, with 5 dip switches it doesn't take long to try all of them out -- none worked. What do you do? You cut couple of tracks on the motherboard to disable the video circuit. Needless to say, there was no schematic diagram, and yes, you could persuade Atari to sell one to you for a thousand bucks or so (don't remember how much exactly) and an NDA. Conclusion: I will never buy, nor advise anyone to buy anything with "Atari" on it. Anyway, I think nobody's talking about schematics in this case. It's more like not providing a user's manual... -- Dimitri ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If Jesus was Jewish, then why did he have a Puerto-Rican name? -- Zen koan
