What i've seen happen is users using the "mail" utility for reading mail when they have really big mailboxs just eats up the /tmp drive. If this is on / then you'll get these kinds of messages. In this case however, it is only a temporary condition (i consider it informational as long as your filesystems seem to have lots of space).
