I have encountered a really perplexing problem. I have 2 unix servers
(bsdi 2.1, all patches). I have a scsi dat drive on one machine (news)
and i back up a second machine (victory) from the 1st. I use the "rsh"
command for these backups. So from the machine called news, i run the
command:

	rsh victory /sbin/dump 0uBf 2097152 news:/dev/nrst0 /

I have been using this command for about a year with no problems.
Suddenly i started getting:

rcmd: news.soonet.ca: Address already in use
	TCP_MAXSEG setsockopt: Bad file descriptor

This baffles me. I don't have any new software on this machine, haven't
changed my /etc/services file, have not rebuilt my kernel. Also, doing
an rlogin from victory to news also fails, however, "rcp" works. Any
suggestions whatsoever would really be appreciated as i've tried
everything i can think of short of reinstalling the OS, absolutely a
last resort.
