I'm assuming that the case has changed but that the tube is the same so here are the specs. for Compaq 140 and 150 monitors: vertical: 31.5 khz 70 hz 640x350 31.5 khz 60 hz 640x480 37.5 khz 75 hz 640x480-VESA timing 31.5 khz 70 hz 720x400 37.8 khz 60 hz 800x600-VESA timing 46.9 khz 75 hz 800X600-VESA timing 48.4 khz 60 HZ 1024X768-VESA timing horizontal: 50 to 100 hz Therefor best I could do with this monitor was 1024x768. After setting up X you can use <ctrl><alt><number pad + or -> to run through the different screen sizes. If you need more help setting up the Xfree86 e-mail me and I'll send you more detailed info on how to try and do it. syntax@eramp.net
