I had a real problem with that (ok it was a while back) when I selected the second disk (both NetBSD) it loaded the boot manager which asked again F1 or F5 ... ad nausea until you select F1 which booted correctly. I removed the boot manager from the second disk and could then select which kernel I wanted. BTW - I also found that when I added a third bootable disk that selecting wd(2,a)/netbsd didn't work because the code in sys.c (hmmm it's been awhile but, I think that's the module) checked for if ("0" thru "9") decode the code the digit if (0 || 1) boot the requested disk else error message Notice "wd(X,a) /kernel" doesn't work AND doesn't get an error message!! Enjoy, Paul
