Brother, did you come to the right place :-)  Set yourself down and
follow the postings here for a few days till you find out whats what.
In brief, you can get a *very* nice 386bsd running on DOS hardware
for free.  I'm running on a 150Mb drive with a full - but binary only -
distribution, and enough room left over t do serious work.
