Not really, even though there's an ioctl to do it. Don't forget, all this is brought to you by a simple on-off speaker, no variable resistors etc. Actually, it's a square-wave generator followed by a simple gate to turn it off entirely, but there are still only two voltage values that will ever reach the speaker.
