The "attitude problem" evident in the OpenBSD web page is that many of the features seem to be described in terms of what the NetBSD folks screwed up or are too lazy to do, but that he graciously did correctly and quickly. Wait a second. I was an integral part of the NetBSD project when those design goals existed there. Forgotten that part of the NetBSD story? OpenBSD is different. Unlike NetBSD, which restricts who can work on the project, OpenBSD very much encourages anyone who can code to come work with us. Those aren't just words, it's one of the most significant differences behind OpenBSD. Not to mention that one of the first things he bothers to mention about his version is that it's "not political". Such statements made so soon always sound political to me. Ok, now I'm sorry, but I've never seen your name before attached to any code in the source tree. Can you remind me which pieces of code you wrote? -- This space not left unintentionally unblank. deraadt@theos.com
