It doesn't need to know about it, though it will display vx0 as an "unknown network interface type" in the menu (but still label it vx0, so you know it's there). The interface list is gotten from the kernel, just as ifconfig does it, and if the kernel has detected your card then it *will* show up in sysinstall's network device menu. -- - Jordan Hubbard President, FreeBSD Project
