A similar situation in regard to the OSF donation of the Sun shared library code (why didn't 4.4 integrate this?) made me throw out my initial shared library implementation in January of 1994. Then, of course, the purchase of USL by Novell in June of 94 screwed the release of the rewrite... the big joke going around Novell was "when USL bough Novell...".
