This may be harder than you think. According to Intel, the 82439HX chipset doesn't correctly do ECC until the A2 stepping, which isn't on the boards I'm getting yet. Also, enabling ECC adds another cycle to memory accesses (the chipset has to compute the ECC and compare it with the saved bits) so it can be a perfor- mance hit. Might be better to run with parity enabled (only).
