I already have several unix boxes in the intranet I manage here in Houston so I am no stranger to the internet or unix. I just need a little question answered... When I create my boot floppy and load it, everything appears to go ok, it asks how much of an installation I want, and I tell it, it asks what components I want installed and accepts my decision. It then newfs's the disk unit and starts to copy a mini root (I assume) to the hard drive. I get a message - insert second floppy disk, which I have created with the instructions to have the following directories: /bin/bin.aa/bin.aa /bin/bin.ab/bin.ab /bin/bin.ac/bin.ac /bin/bin.ad/bin.ad /bin/bin.ae/bin.ae When I insert the second floppy, and hit enter, I get a message "STARTING AN EMERGENCY HOLOGRAPHIC SHELL ON VTY4" and then it locks up and appears to do nothing else... Have I not followed the instructions properly or is there something wrong ? I have a 486dx4/100 AMD processor w/ 16meg memory and a 1.2g Micropolis SCSI disk with an adaptec 1520 controller and an Intel Ether-express aui/coax ethernet card in it. Can someone direct me what to do? E-mail me as I am sure others have already solved this problem... mike_st@iah.com
