Suggestions? > I had a similiar problem when installing 2.1.5. The problem is that the GENERIC kernel is set up to only recognize COM1 and COM2. To fix this, boot with the -c option. Enable sio2 and make sure it is set to the right IRQ and port. After doing this, make sure your sio2 is detected at boot time. I found that I had to enable everything in order to get sio2 to be detected at boot time, but it still wouldn't use the modem. What I should have done is tried to disable any devices that may conflict with sio2. You should also use the "show modem" command to make sure that PPP is using cuaa2 at the correct speed. If all else fails, do what I ended up doing. FTP the bin and src distributions in DOS, and install them from a DOS partition. Then rebuild your kernel to the right configuration and everything should be fine. Hope this helps. > ----- David Smith, Thinker Of Deep Thoughts :) > http://www.prairienet.org/~dsmith/library.html > > ---- Dusty Reichwein reichwja@engr.orst.edu http://www.engr.orst.edu/~reichwja
