After series consideration I've decided that if I'm going to install FreeBSD I'm going to purchase I nice 1GB + SCSI Drive.

Currently, my computer has an Enhanced IDE Drive and *ovbviously* controller card.

My question is this.

I will have to install a new card to handle the SCSI HD.
Is there any way to setup the hardware so I can select which drive I will be booting from given that they use different controllers ?

Additionally, I've got a CD ROM drive that I *think* uses a SB 16 PnP Card for its connection to the bus (I think that's right !)

Can I use this drive ?
Furthermore, if I was to set up FreeBSD, is there any way I could have a CD ROM set up to handle the boot up ?

i.e. insert the CD ROM at startup and have the kernel loaded from the CD ROM and use this to mount the SCSI HD where all the data etc would be stored ?

Thanx in advance.
