I could agree with your sentiments, although I don't know if the XEmacs configure script lets you specify Athena dialogs instead of Motif ones (since I haven't done much research on it). I did, however, magically find XEmacs 19.14 on a PHT Mo'Linux July 1996 CD-ROM. Let me tell you, there's nothing worse than downloading 16MB over a 28.8 link, so you can bet how cheerful I was when I found XEmacs on the CD-ROM. It built and ran without a hitch! I'm falling in love with this OS more and more each day.
