NAME
       MAKEDEV - create system and device special files

SYNOPSIS
       MAKEDEV name ...

DESCRIPTION
       The shell script MAKEDEV, found in the ``/dev'' directory,
       is used to create the  common  special  files.   See  spe-
       cial(8) for a more complete discussion of special files.
