Yep. I still have to get my sound card up and running in FreeBSD, but
applets are now running fine. You have to do two things: make sure an
env variable CLASSPATH points to the java_30 file from the tarball, and
follow the directions in earlier posts about using mkfontdir to properly
create the fonts.dir directory within the Xwindow tree. Once I did those
two, it worked without a qualm.
