Hi.

I've got a question for those of you who are XF86 experts.

I currently use a Vision Master 17 (IDEKiyama) and ATI Mach64 Graphics
Pro Turbo (PCI) w/4 meg RAM.

Question: How do I change the default bit depth from 8 to 16 (running
             a 1280 x 1024 display).

Problem: I'm currently using AfterStep as the Window manager, and I
consistently run out of colors - which looks _real_ ugly!

I should have the RAM available acording to the README
file in my distribution - it should be possible. However,
there is no mention on _how_ to change the default bit
             depth from 8 to 16 or 32.

Is this an X-Server (e.g., Mach64) problem, or a configuration that
can be made to the XF86Config file?

.ps please send email to me - as I don't get the opportunity to check
     the news all that often.

     Thanks in advance.
