I posted this message before, but under the wrong model number. The tape
drive is a HP-1534A.

Whenever I try to dump to /dev/nrst0 I have problems. Right before the
dump gets to the end there is an error. I can't quote the exact error as
the SCSI hangs before the logfile can be updated.

The error is something like:
ahc0,0:	Device timeout while.......
ahc0,0: Forcing.....
ahc0,0: Channel A reset.

and some messages about sd0. So for some reason it is causing sd0 to
timeout (or at least the SCSI channel to it).

The card is an Adaptec-2940 PCI and I am running 2.1.5-RELEASE.

The error is consistant and I can replicate it everytime. Could this have
something to do with termination. The computer was custom built by a
local company, and they may have messed up the termination... however the
rest of the devices work the rest of the time....

Also there are some DIP switches on the bottom, I have checked the HP web
page and there is a section of configuring it with UNIX and the DIP
switches must be set, but it only gives examples for SCO, Sun workstations
and HP workstations and it doesn't tell me what exactly the switches do.
So I am currently just trying different settings trial and error.

If anybody uses this tape drive, could they please tell me what settings
they have theirs set to?

TIA,
Matt
