What puzzles me, though, is that I used Taylor UUCP with absolutely
*no problems at all* with the same hardware running Linux. I have had
it auto-dial my UUCP provider twice per day (early morning and early
evening) for more than two years and it has always worked rock
steady. Now I have to monitor (and reboot several times) just to get
my news and mail.

I have the source; I will try and have a look and see what I can find.

Thanks,
Jacob.
